Biography/BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1961 in Fukushima Prefecture. Currently a contract reporter for the Mainichi Shimbun and a non-fiction writer. Joined the Mainichi Shimbun in 1989 after working as an engineer. Lived in South Africa, Mexico, and Italy for a total of 14 and a half years. Written in 64 countries. Specializes in character reports and social conditions.
In 2005, he won the 3rd Takeshi Kaiko Non-Fiction Award for The Boy Who Was Made a Postcard. The motto is "easy and interesting talk without an answer".
